To Market, To Market: Tastes of Easter in Port St Mary

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2010

Paddy's in Port St Mary, which showcases some of the Island's best local produce, is holding a special two-day Easter Market.

On Friday 2nd April (Good Friday) and Saturday 3rd April, from 10am to 3pm, Paddy's will boast stalls laden with food and drink; live music; fresh flowers; and Easter-themed activities for the family.

Handcrafted bread and cakes; artisan cheeses and charcuterie; high quality local meat and sausages; and wholesome fruit and vegetables will all be on sale, not to mention free range eggs; homemade chutneys, preserves and oils; and irresistible handmade confectionary.

If the array of food on display whets your appetite, take a break from shopping and try Indian street food prepared by Kathryn Sentance; oysters opened and ready to eat; a 'Great Manx Brunch' starring delicious local produce; or a cream tea from the Quay Cafe.

As ever, Paddy's will be offering an extensive range of fresh fish and seafood, along with chef's tips on how to make the most of your marine delicacies.

While the grown-ups are indulging their tastebuds, the young (and young at heart) can enjoy a chocolate egg hunt organised by Cocoa Red), egg painting with Staarvey Farms and Easter storytelling through the day.

All in all, there's never been a finer time to head to Port St Mary, share Paddy's passion for great food, and celebrate Springtime.
