New head for Foxdale School

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2010

Foxdale Primary School is to have a new headteacher for the first time in more than quarter of a century.

Ann Jessopp will succeed Stuart Lambie, who is to retire in the summer, after 27 years in charge.

Mrs Jessopp is currently deputy head at Michael School, and previously taught at Andreas and Bride.

She says she is excited about the new appointment, describing Foxdale School as at the heart of the community.

Stuart Lambie is the Department of Education's longest serving headteacher, having begun his career at Willaston Primary School in 1972, when it occupied an old Victorian building.

He was awarded the MBE in 2004.
