Appointment for Rushen MHK

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2010

The House of Keys has a new deputy speaker.

Rushen MHK Quintin Gill was elected unopposed at today's sitting.

He was proposed by South Douglas MHK David Cretney and seconded by fellow Rushen member Juan Watterson.

Mr Gill will take charge when the Speaker, Steve Rodan, is unavailable.

He succeeds former East Douglas MHK Phil Braidwood, following his elevation to the Legislative Council last week.
