Good news for prime seafront site

There is fresh hope the former Summerland site could be redeveloped.

The plot has been vacant for some time, and last year plans for a ?30 million facility incorporating a multiplex cinema, restaurant, bars and casino, were dropped after talks between the Manx government and the Sefton Group, which was to lease the site, broke down.

However, in the House of Keys today, Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle said a tender process would begin next month, inviting applications from people interested in developing a leisure facility (play extended audio file):
