Lloyds TSB to Make 'Big Difference' in the Community

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2010

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting Island life, Lloyds TSB has today announced a campaign to help local community groups make a real difference to their surroundings.

Called Small Change – Big Difference, the campaign will run for the whole of 2010 and will make a series of ?1,000 awards to those community groups that impress the judges with their commitment to supporting life on the Island.

Any not-for-profit organisation that can demonstrate an active involvement in its local community can apply for the ?1,000 prize – which will be awarded once per quarter to the applicant that has most impressed the judges.

Applicants need not be registered charities but must be able to demonstrate a long-standing and ongoing involvement in community life on the Island.

The judges envision the award being used to purchase new, or replace existing, equipment or other items that will make a real and lasting difference to the work of the organisation.

Lucy Felton, Business Development Manager for Lloyds TSB on the Isle of Man, said, "Being able to embark on a sustained and co-ordinated activity aimed solely at improving the quality of life on the Island is just one of the ways we play an active part as a member of the community.

"This is an exciting time for Lloyds TSB and we hope to see lots of applications for the award, which we think really will help make a big difference."
