The best energy saving projects undertaken by Manx businesses and the Isle of Man Government have been celebrated at the second Energy Champion Awards.
The annual event rewards the efforts of so called 'energy champions' in the private and public sectors, in reducing their energy consumption and improving efficiency.
Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney presented the awards in three categories in each of the sectors - most innovative energy saving project, best 'energy champion' practice and the largest saving achieved.
The annual savings from the winning projects totalled £255,000.
Winners on the night included Manx Telecom, the Department of Agriculture's new headquarters and its woodchip project at St John's, and the National Sports Centre.
Special commendations were given to Age Concern's 'energy doctor' Gary Stevens, and Mike Boner who is the home energy advisor for the Manx Electricity Authority.
In both cases the awards were for help and advice given to the public.
