Three men who viciously beat a man, breaking his leg among other injuries, have been jailed.
The court heard they believed Steven Johnston had given too much information to police, following his arrest for drugs offences.
Daniel Brian Corlett, aged 24, from Ballakermeen Close in Douglas, got 48 months for GBH and harming a witness.
Twenty-seven-year-old Anthony Bell, care of the prison, was sentenced to a total of 38 months, for the same offences.
And 37-year-old James Robert Stalford, also care of the prison, was given 26 months after admitting a charge of causing actual bodily harm.
The prosecution said the men set upon Mr Johnston after cornering him in a lane behind Jaks pub in Douglas, in October 2008.
He suffered a fractured tibia and fibula, a deep three centimetre cut below the knee after Corlett attacked him with a broken bottle, bruising and swelling.
Sentencing the men, Deemster Doyle said it was a particularly vicious and nasty attack, adding such violence would not be tolerated.
