Man's body found in Laxey

The body of a man has been found in the yard of a property off Church Hill in Laxey, police have confirmed to Manx Radio.

It was discovered at around seven o' clock this morning.

Marian Kenny had this live report on the ten o' clock news, just after she was given the information: (play audio clip)

Because of the incident, New Road is shut from its junction with Old Laxey Hill to its junction with Minorca Hill.

Captains Hill between its junctions with New Road and Church Hill is also closed.

Buses which normally use New Road are being diverted and the trams have been suspended until further notice.
