Man injured in hit-and-run incident

A man was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver in Douglas in the early hours of this morning.

His injuries are described as minor and he was taken to Noble's Hospital.

It happened at about two o' clock near the Bowling Green pub on Derby Road.

The 20-year-old, who was dressed in a grey tracksuit, was hit by the car from behind as he tried to cross the road.

The vehicle involved is believed to be dark in colour, but the make and model is unknown.

Anyone who saw the man prior to the incident, or knows anything about it, is asked to call Police Headquarters on 631212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
