An unusual beat - student bobbies to tackle climb

by isleofman.com 20th March 2010

Eight student constables have a mountain to climb in Strand Street in Douglas today (Saturday).

They're aiming to climb the height of Everest on a specially constructed staircase to raise money for the homeless charity Graih.

Along the way they will mark their progress using the height of local landmarks.

Student constables Lisa Barclay and Steven Giddins say they're hoping for good support from the public.

The staircase challenge gets underway at 10am close to Marks and Spencer's store at the head of Regent Street.
