by isleofman.com 19th March 2010

The Douglas East by-election will take place on May 27.

That’s when voters will choose an MHK to replace Phil Braidwood, who was elected to the Legislative Council earlier this week.

Nominations will close on April 27.

So far, four candidates have come forward - Douglas Councillor Colin Cain, former managing director of the Sefton Hotel Chris Robertshaw, chairman of the Liberal Vannin Party Kate Beecroft and secretary of the Isle of Man Communication Workers Union at the Post Office, John Joughin.
