The new chief executive line-up for the government departments has been revealed.

These appointments are seen as crucial, with ministers in all but one case getting to grips with totally new or expanded portfolios.

Colin Kniveton, currently CEO of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, who has also been covering the position at the DTL, picks up the blue riband position at the head of the new Department of Economic Development.

Of the other positions, Ken Kinrade stays with environment, but with the new responsibilities of agriculture and food.

Jon Callister teams up with David Cretney at Community and Leisure.

Chris Corlett moves from the DTI to become CEO at Social Care; he has Martyn Quayle as his minister.

In Home Affairs, there's no change for minister Adrian Earnshaw and Will Greenhough, while David Killip remains at Health.

Ian Thompson swaps the soon-to-be defunct DoT for the Department of Infrastructure - and Mark Shimmin stays at Treasury.
