Manx Foundation launches vital appeal

by isleofman.com 18th March 2010

The Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled is launching an appeal to raise ?250,000 - just to stay afloat.

A severe funding crisis nearly led to the Foundation, based at Masham Court in Douglas, closing its doors last year.

The Home Care service was dropped and 11 staff lost their jobs.

Now the charity is rebuilding itself, securing Bushy's brewery boss Martin Brunnschweiler as its patron.

The Foundation's also appointed full time fundraiser Julie Needham to attract support from the public and local businesses.

Julie admits the Manx Foundation has had a low profile for some time.

But she aims to change all that.
