by isleofman.com 17th March 2010

Another candidate has come forward for the by-election in East Douglas.

John Joughin is the Secretary of the Isle of Man Communication Workers Union at Isle of Man Post and a co-owner of Peel Post Office.

Mr Joughin has lived in Douglas East for 20 years and is married with two children.

He joins Douglas Councillor Colin Cain, former Managing Director of the Sefton Hotel Chris Robertshaw and Chairman of the Liberal Vannin Party Kate Beecroft.

The by-election has come about following the elevation of Phil Braidwood to the Legislative Council.

The closing date for candidates to declare their intention to stand and the date for the election itself has yet to be confirmed.
