Now a Three Point Loss for Peel

by isleofman.com 17th March 2010

The saga over a points deduction for Peel continues.

In January, it was announced the westerners had been docked six points in the Sure Mobile Premier League.

The penalty was for playing new signing Terry Rigaux at the start of the current season while he was suspended.

He moved to the island last summer and was still under suspension from his time at previous club Burtonwood Albion, who play in the Warrington and District League - a fact not known by Peel or the Isle of Man Football Association.

Peel appealed to the English Football Association who then referred the case back to the Isle of Man authority to review the decision.

While this was ongoing, Peel's points were reinstated.

Now comes the news that the Isle of Man Football Association has imposed a reduced three point penalty.

A statement from Peel says the matter will discussed at their next committee meeting on Monday and no further comment will be made beforehand.
