15 drivers caught on their mobiles by police

by isleofman.com 16th March 2010

Fifteen people were caught using their mobile phones while driving during a recent week-long police operation.

Inspector Mark Britton from the Roads Policing Unit says those caught have been reported and files are being prepared for submission and consideration for court action.

If found guilty they could face hefty fines.

Inspector Britton says drivers need to understand that attitudes towards this particular offence need to change, adding a large awareness campaign about the issue will be launched next month.
