Channel Islands to split from UK?

Are the Channel Islands preparing to split from the UK – and if they did, could we be next?

Reports in the UK and the Channel Islands suggest Jersey and Guernsey’s politicians are preparing to sever ties with Britain and declare independence.

A recent visit to Gibraltar by members of both governments only served to strengthen the rumours that a split is imminent.

Henry Ramagge of Farmhill worked in Gibraltar for some years, and says the trip explored issues which would have to be faced if Jersey and Guernsey were to go it alone:
