Cervical cancer vaccinations under way today

The vaccination programme to protect girls in the Island against cervical cancer begins today.

The jab is being offered to all girls aged between 12 and 17 and follows a high-profile education campaign about the HPV vaccine last year.

Girls at QE2 in Peel will be the first to get the jabs, which protect against the potentially fatal form of cancer.

Health Protection Nurse Jacqui Dunn says they're ready to begin in earnest:
