Man rescued from sea wall

A man was rescued from the sea wall on Douglas Promenade last night (Wednesday).

Douglas Coastguard rescue team, Douglas Lifeboat, the police and paramedics were all involved after the man went into the water.

He was helped on to the concrete ledge on the sea wall by a police officer until the arrival of a Coastguard rescue swimmer and a rescue dinghy from the Douglas lifeboat.

Station officer David Keggin said it was vital they were alerted to the problem immediately.
