House fire in Birch Hill

by isleofman.com 10th March 2010

There was a house fire in Birch Hill in Onchan this morning.

Three fire engines, the police and an ambulance were called to the property at about 11.10 after they were initially told the owner may still be inside.

That turned out not to be the case, although a pan left unattended on the cooker had damaged it and smoked out the house.

The alarm had been raised by a neighbour who'd heard the smoke alarm going off.
