Demolition of old Noble's moves closer

by isleofman.com 10th March 2010

The Old Noble's Hospital will soon be little more than a memory.

Contractors have moved onto the site on Westmoreland Road and after asbestos has been removed, the building, which opened in 1912, will be demolished.

A new school to replace Fairfield and Ballacloan primaries will eventually be built there.

The keys to the Old Noble's were handed by the DHSS Minister Eddie Teare to Anne Craine Education Minister - although Mr Teare is due to take over from Mrs Craine in April!

He says it's an ideal location for a modern new school campus.

The building has been empty since 2003 and is beginning to crumble.
