Daunting but challenging time ahead, vows Gawne

by isleofman.com 10th March 2010

The soon-to-be Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says there’s a tough job ahead taking over at the helm of the new organisation – but he’s looking forward to the challenge.

In the reshuffle announced this week by the Chief Minister, Mr Gawne will move from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to the Department of Infrastructure which comes into being on April 1.

He says he’ll be sad to leave DAFF, as he’s spent his entire political career as an MHK there, but now wants to get to grips with the new department.

And he admits the prospect was daunting at first.
