International call for Two Manx Athletes

by isleofman.com 9th March 2010

Manx Badminton player Josh Green has been selected by England to compete at the World Junior Championships in Mexico next month.

After winning the English under-19's singles title a fortnight ago, he followed up with a promising display at the Dutch Open this past weekend.

He reached the quarter-finals of the singles and semi-finals of the doubles....losing out to more experienced opposition both times.

Josh will be at the tournament in Mexico from the 16th to 25th April.

Junior Compound Archer Aalin George has been selected by Great Britain to compete in a competition at Reggio in Italy in May.

The 13-year old St. Ninian's student was at a GB training camp at Lilleshall in Shropshire at the weekend.

In one shoot, she rewrote the Isle of Man record books with a superb 668 out of 720.

At the final debriefing, Aalin discovered she has been included in the Great Britain team for Italy in May.
