A public meeting in Douglas last night (Monday) called on the Manx government to seek a deferral of the ending of the reciprocal health agreement.
The meeting attracted around 100 people, keen to show their anger at the Manx government's failure to save the agreement - or broker a new one with the UK.
With just over three weeks before the agreement is due to be scrapped, concerns about a new era of private medical insurance are acute.
The resolution passed last night calls on the government to set up a universal medical insurance scheme for Manx people, funded by a travel levy.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran has already won approval to introduce a private member's bill on those lines.
The public were urged by MHKs and campaigners, to demonstrate their anger in a show of ''people power' at Tynwald next week, when a motion calling for the deferral, will be tabled by Michael MHK David Cannan.
Roger Tomlinson from the Positive Action Group hopes the public gallery will be full to bursting.
