Reshuffle unpopular with some ministers

by isleofman.com 8th March 2010

It’s understood a number of ministers affected by the reshuffle announced today (Monday) were on the verge of resigning when told about the moves.

Sources from the Council of Ministers say members were angry about the way the reshuffle was pushed through, as well as which departments they were assigned to.

The project is the brainchild of Chief Minister Tony Brown, who at least one minister accuses of adopting a presidential style of government.

They say the reshuffle was introduced without all CoMin members being told who would get which job and some ministers were so angered by the decisions they considered their positions.

With other things on the mind of government as the restructuring approaches on April 1, they say changing ministers could bring chaos to senior management levels in government.
