Fishing boat rescued off Port Erin

by isleofman.com 8th March 2010

Port Erin and Port St Mary lifeboats were called out yesterday afternoon after a fishing boat was reported as taking on water.

The 40ft "Constant Friend" was six miles west of Port Erin when she got into difficulties just before 6.30pm.

A coastguard team from Port Erin monitored the situation from the shore.

The crew of the fishing boat later reported they had managed to stem the flow of water, had their pumps working and were making their way back to port.

Port St Mary lifeboat escorted the vessel back to the Island.
