Union criticises minimum wage increase

The recent increase in the minimum wage is effectively a wage cut for low paid workers

That's the belief of president of the Trades Union Council on the Island Angela Moffatt.

Last week the rate was increased by one per cent to ?6.10 after the Minimum Wage Committee carried out an impact assessment.

Ms Moffatt says she believes part of the problem is the make-up of the committee and that unions are being ignored:
