Armed burglary in Douglas

by isleofman.com 8th March 2010

Officers from the police firearms team were deployed in Douglas yesterday evening after an armed burglary.

It happened at around 4.35 yesterday afternoon at a flat in Clifton Terrace.

Police say three men entered the flat armed with weapons and threatened a woman who was alone there at the time.

A number of items were stolen before the men left the building.

A short time later there was an argument between two groups of men near DB Autos on Victoria Road in Douglas and two, aged 20 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Another man ran off and is still being hunted.

The police are appealing for anyone who was around Clifton Terrace or Victoria Road around the time and saw anything suspicious to come forwards.

Officers say the incident involved individuals who are known to each other and there is no reason to believe that there is any risk to the public at large.
