A Legislative Council member says he hopes to be able to support new laws meaning the body would be elected by the public instead of MHKs.
George Waft will defend his seat on the council in ten days’ time when four council seats go up for grabs.
But with new laws being drafted by MLC David Callister – who isn’t up for election this time around - it could be the last time the House of Keys votes for candidates.
