Tory pledge over health agreement

by isleofman.com 4th March 2010

The Conservative Party has pledged to review the ending of the Reciprocal Health Agreement – should it gain power in May’s UK General Election.

In a statement, the Tories says the party will open negotiations with the Manx government and that the amount involved is an 'infinitesimal fraction' of the NHS budget.

Labour MP, Secretary of State for Health Andy Burnham, has already agreed to look again at the decision to end the agreement, which provides free medical treatment for Island residents in the UK and vice versa.
