Roger Black for Parish Walk

by isleofman.com 4th March 2010

Great Britain Olympic 400 metre runner Roger Black is to compete in this year's Scottish Widows Parish Walk.

During his career, Black won 15 major championship medals including European, Commonwealth and World gold medals.

He won two silvers and a bronze at two Olympic Games - Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996.

Roger Black is also endorsing the event alongside Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Story.

Race Director Ray Cox says the news is a huge boost to the event and he thinks Black will be able to adjust easily from running to walking:-

The Parish Walk starts at 8am at the National Sports Centre on Saturday 26th June.
