Bookworms will be in seventh heaven today (Thursday) as the Isle of Man celebrates World Book Day.
The event is part of wider celebrations of the literary arts and reading, organised by the UN and marked in over 100 countries around the globe.
The Island's schools are leading the way with book swaps, literary quizzes and the chance to dress up as favourite characters.
Pupils at St Ninian's High School in Douglas are using the day to extend a helping hand to their counterparts in Uganda.
In exchange for being allowed to dress as a character from their favourite book, they're each donating ?1 to a charity which provides books to school children in the central African country.
