The Health Minister has asked for urgent talks with the UK Secretary of State for Health Andy Burnham in a bid to save the Reciprocal Health Agreement.
It follows calls made earlier this week by the MP Andrew Mackinlay who urged the Manx government to continue banging on the door of Whitehall.
Eddie Teare and Chief Minister Tony Brown only met Mr Burnham in January when they were told the agreement, which provides free medical treatment for Island residents in the UK and vice versa, will end this month.
However, Mr Teare says they are continuing to try and get the decision deferred.
