Minister hopes for quick LegCo election

With the nominations in for the Legislative Council, Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne says he hopes the election process will be shorter and simpler this time around.

The last set of voting by MHKs for vacancies on the council took weeks to complete with round after round of ballots.

But Mr Gawne introduced new rules which should mean picking candidates is quicker, avoiding the chaos of previous years.

He says the regulations means the House of Keys can't put off making a decision about the four vacant seats:
