Ben-my-Chree to go into dry dock

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2010

The Ben-my-Chree will be out of service from Saturday to undergo her regular overhaul, which happens every two years.

She'll head for a three-week stay in dry dock after the 2.15pm Heysham to Douglas sailing on Friday afternoon (March 5).

The fast craft Manannan will accomodate all passenger traffic, with a chartered vessel covering the freight service.

Steam Packet CEO Mark Woodward says the Ben-my-Chree's age and recent damage to the propellers mean she's going in for longer than usual.
