by isleofman.com 1st March 2010

Manx celebrity chef and hotelier Kevin Woodford has confirmed he will stand for the Legislative Council later this month.

Mr Woodford, who had publicly said he was considering coming forward, has officially now declared his intentions.

Nominations close later today (Monday) for the contest on March 15 in which four seats are available.

It’s understood the four MLCs whose term of office has just ended — Alan Crowe, Dudley Butt, Alex Downie and George Waft — will all seek re-election.

Mr Woodford acknowledges a four year term is a big commitment.
