Colby man on drugs charge

A 64 year-old man from Colby has appeared in court on a drugs charge.

Alfred Charles Omar from Ballacriy Park in the village was charged with possessing 927 ecstacy tablets, when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Alistair Mongtgomerie.

He was arrested at his home on Thursday.

The same day, police seized ecstacy with a street value of ?3,500.

Mr Omar was granted bail in the sum of ?500. He has to obey a 7pm to 7am curfew and surrender his passport.

He'll appear in court again on March 30.
