Growing our own Energy

by isleofman.com 26th February 2010

Moves which could save the Isle of Man millions of pounds on energy bills and make us more self-sufficient will be discussed at a public meeting on Monday.

Environmental consultant Peter Taylor is the guest speaker at the latest Positive Action Group's meeting, entitled Growing Our Own Energy.

His talk revolves around producing what are known as 'energy crops', ones which are grown purely to fuel things like the power station or energy from waste plant.

Mr Taylor says it could mean the Island is no longer at the mercy of fluctuating global gas prices.
