Another Giant Stride from Pryke

by isleofman.com 25th February 2010

19 year old athlete Harriet Pryke is even nearer qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi later this year.

Yesterday, she set yet another personal best in the 400 metres at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

Running for Brunel University in an inter-varsity match, she clocked a new personal best of 55.78 seconds knocking 1.5 seconds off the time set a few weeks ago.

She needs a time of around 55.2 seconds to be considered for the Isle of Man team to go to India in October.

But times outdoor are in general much quicker than those indoor so she is making real progress.

Harriet's final indoor run will be at the British University Indoor Championships next month - her first outdoor competition is an international meeting in Malta in April.
