The Isle of Man should take a lead in gay rights and introduce same-sex civil marriages.
That's the view of leading gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, as the House of Keys prepares to give a first reading to the Civil Partnership Bill.
The Bill is designed to enable same-sex couples to obtain legal recognition of their relationships.
It also proposes amendments in respect of adoption law, including the removal of the current restrictions on adoption by non-married couples.
Mr Tatchell, who was instrumental in legalising adult gay relationships in the Isle of Man, says it's a shame the Island hasn't decided to take 'the full leap':
