An attempt’s been made to protect wildlife in the River Glass following a diesel spill.
Douglas coastguard officers deployed absorbent booms across the river on Sunday afternoon as a precautionary measure after up to 200 litres of diesel leaked from a property in Tromode.
Due to the depth, speed and cold of the water in the river following the snow, officers had to wear full immersion equipment.
