It's a matter of 'wait and see' for supporters and opponents of the Tesco expansion plans, now the inspector conducting the public inquiry has retired to compile his report.
The hearing phase ended yesterday (Friday), with lawyers for both sides making their closing statements.
Tesco says a larger store would offer greater choice for customers and more jobs, while opponents of the plans say shops in Douglas town centre and elsewhere in the Island would be unable to compete, and could go out of business.
The inspector, David Bushby, says the arguments for and against were explained in some detail (play audio file):
Mr Bushby expects to deliver his report by the start of April.
