MHK's appeal to the constabulary

Sensitive handling of the investigation into the wave of nationalist graffiti is needed to avoid alienating parts of the Island's community, according to an MHK.

Rushen member Phil Gawne has raised concerns in the wake of allegations, from the Celtic League's Bernard Moffatt, that police in the Island have been targetting speakers of the Manx Gaelic language.

Chief Constable Mike Langdon is assuring the public the constabulary would only pursue people it suspected of committing crimes.

Mr Gawne says every effort has been made to keep the traditional language clear of politics:
