by isleofman.com 19th February 2010

The Manx government and Douglas Borough Council have finally reached an agreement over the Bowl.

After months of negotiations and differences of opinion, it's been confirmed the sports venue will be developed in time for next year's Commonwealth Youth Games.

Subject to contract, the Department of Tourism and Leisure will take over the facility from the local authority for a nominal sum of ?1.

The DTL will also take control of the car park during evenings, weekends and for special events.

Douglas Borough Council will continue to operate the car park as a pay and display facility between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
