Staff at ICM organise and participate in various fundraising events throughout the year in order to support local charities.
Most recently, a donation of ?1,000 was presented to the manager of Victim Support Isle of Man, Paula Gelling, by members of the ICM Charity Committee.
Paula accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity, "We are very grateful for being chosen by ICM to be a recipient of funds raised, as it means we can concentrate on supporting those who need our help.
"We aim to use the funds to improve security and safety and overall appearance of the entrance to property, which is used by Victims and Witnesses".
The charity provides key emotional support and practical help for Victims and Witnesses and those affected by crime, domestic abuse and fatal road traffic collisions.
Whilst crime has not risen, the organisation is kept fully occupied and is feeling the pinch like many other charities in the present economic climate.
Paula Gelling listed some of the people they support, "We recently supported three rape victims in as many days - crimes that had been committed within the last six months both on and off the Island.
"In the same week, our trained Volunteers supported two people who had recently considered suicide, and some twenty six witnesses at a criminal trial". May their good and important work continue.
