New Team Member for Age Concern

by isleofman.com 19th February 2010

Age Concern Isle of Man has appointed Carole Male as their new business development consultant.

Carole joins the charity from Manx Gas and will be working alongside business development manager Gillian Harvey on a range of fundraising initiatives.

Carole brings a wealth of experience to the role, having raised money for various charities over the last 20 years.  She has organised the Isle of Woman campaign for three years on behalf of the Department of Tourism and Leisure and raised funds through the Sunset Island Festival for Hospice Isle of Man and Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

She says, "I was attracted to working for Age Concern because it’s a very forward-thinking organisation.  I was also very impressed when they won the Charity, Cultural and Social Responsibility award in last year’s Awards for Excellence.

"I’ve known Penny and Gillian for some years and between us we’ve lots of exciting plans for Age Concern fundraising events, for which I’ll be able to draw on the support of a great group of volunteers and friends.

"I’m also very grateful to Manx Gas managing director Alan Bates for all his support while I worked there.  He was always happy for me to work for charity while at Manx Gas and saw it as a way of giving something back to the community."

Age Concern Isle of Man chief executive Penny Creighton MBE said, "I’m delighted to welcome Carole to the team.  Her fundraising track record is outstanding and she shares that same passion and commitment as all of us here at Age Concern for helping to create an age-friendly society where every older person counts."
