Govt shake-up 'being rushed'

After a government shake-up was supported by Tynwald, nine government departments will remain but seven will be in new formations, including the long awaited Department of Economic Development and a Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.

During the debate, there were many calls for such an important decision to be deferred so full costings could be provided and MHKs were divided over calls for a full consultation to be carried out.

Peter Karran was one of the members who felt the case for reorganisation was being rushed.
