A representative of public sector workers has condemned treasury minister Allan Bell for announcing a pay freeze in yesterday's budget speech.
The Whitley Council's Bernard Moffatt says the suggestion should have been put to them, rather than announced as a "dictat" in Tynwald.
And further, he states a claim for a pay rise will be made to offset inflation and a seven per cent rise in electricity prices.
