Moore Stephens Isle of Man has announced the official timetable for this year’s Moore Stephens Douglas Regatta, which will be staged on 26th and 27th June in Douglas by the Douglas Bay Yacht Club.
Keen sailor and circumnavigator Bransom Bean, a member of the Moore Stephens Yachting team, is excited about the event: "Our experience with the event last year was outstanding and this year it’s open to yachts both on and off the Island," he commented.
"I know Moore Stephens is pleased to again take part and is looking forward to working with Douglas Bay Yacht Club to attract a good cross section of yachtsmen and women to Isle of Man waters. Those of us in the Moore Stephens’ Yachting team are especially looking forward to watching the racing with clients and friends aboard MV KARINA."
The regatta has been running since the 1880’s and has always been a highlight of the summer season. This is the second year it has been sponsored by Moore Stephens.
This year the program kicks off on Friday, 25th June with an evening briefing and drinks reception at the Douglas Bay Yacht Club at 6:00pm.
On Saturday the 26th, a captain and crew breakfast will start the racing programme, with the first race at 2:00pm followed by two back-to-back races on Sunday starting at 10:00am; all three races will count towards the overall result with three trophies for the top three yachts.
During the Regatta, entertainment includes a BBQ on Saturday night with a buffet and prize-giving on Sunday afternoon at the clubhouse after the racing.
Mike McMahon, president of the Douglas Bay Yacht Club, said, "The officers and committee of the club would once again like to extend their sincere thanks to Moore Stephens for its sponsorship and support of this event. We’re pleased that in addition to a full weekend programme of entertainment and racing, the event will also feature fundraising activities on behalf of local charity Sailing for the Disabled."
In addition to superyacht and crew services, Moore Stephens Isle of Man offers a range of services including: assurance, audit, aviation, consultancy, corporate recovery, fiduciary, trust and company administration, HR services, insurance, investigations and forensic, financial services and taxation.
