Homestay appeal from DTL

by isleofman.com 17th February 2010

Local residents are being given a chance to meet interesting people and make a little extra cash over TT fortnight.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is looking for more volunteers to open up their homes to visiting bikers, under the successful Homestay initiative.

The DTL says the move has been prompted by a notable increase in the number of hits on the visitisleofman.com website, and a large number of enquiries by visitors wishing to secure accommodation under the scheme.

Properties should be registered with the department as soon as possible.

The DTL says this will help meet the rising demand, and enable visitors to make early bookings.
